COMMITTING TO FILM

A recent article in Filmmaker Magazine called ‘Better Living Through Filmmaking’ by Esther B. Robinson. It’s basically a top ten list of things filmmakers can do in the recession.

Being the type of person who loves the simplicity of lists and list-following, I am getting on board with Ms.Robinson’s top ten list right now…

1. COMMIT YOURSELF TO FILMMAKING

2. DEDICATE YOURSELF TO A LIFETIME OF MAKING INVENTIVE, RIGOROUS WORK THAT MATTERS

3. USE YOUR CREATIVE SKILLS TO BUILD YOUR FUTURE, NOT TO DENY YOUR CURRENT SITUATION

4. SPEND WITH CLARITY AND SAVE WITH PURPOSE

5. GET YOUR CREDIT IN ORDER

6. EMBRACE MULTIPLE INCOME STREAMS

7. CREATE STRENGTH THROUGH COMMUNITY

8. MANAGE YOUR GOALS AND CHART YOUR PROGRESS

9. GIVE MORE AND PARTICIPATE IN MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL PEOPLE

10. MAKE THE DECISION TO MAKE YOUR BEST WORK AND BE GOOD WITH MONEY AND ENRICH THE WORLD.

Thank you, Ms. Robinson.

  1. Filmmakers? Recession? Sounds like these are great springboards for “positivity” for anyone in any field! Got to go now, and copy them onto my ‘things to do’ list….
